Forty-five years ago, Shu Uemura released  the original cleansing oil designed by Mr. Uemura himself while working as a cinema makeup artist. It has grown to be a favourite over the years, and is still a staple for many makeup artists today and beauty nerds alike.  Today, his lineup of cleansing oils are very much his best sellers which make fried bananas shy away in despair. From oily, to acne prone, to sensitive, to dry to moisturising....there's always one that will suit your fancy.

Of course, many might wonder, why spends 100 bucks for a cleansing oil when you could easily buy another one for just 20-30 bucks? Even Guardian sells great ones for as low as 10 bucks, mind you.

Well, think all you want, but I am a firm believer that everything great justifies the price paid. And yes, this is no exception.

Located next to Top Shop in KLCC, the Shu Uemura boutique welcomes people who'd love to receive any skin care or makeup advice, to browse around or even to do your eyebrows! But as per today's post, my target is very much the cleansing oil.

Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil Range

At this point of time, Shu Uemura had launched their latest special cleansing oil, called the Ultime8 Sublime Beauty Cleansing Oil.

In a first glance, it looks similar to the other cleansing oils, except for the colour, which is Brownish. But once the SA squirted a small amount onto my hands, I was immediately in love! The smell was absolutely amazing!

The special thing about this cleansing oil is that not only it effectively removes dirt and impurities, it also has 8 botanical origin oils, which helps to nourish your skin to become more soft and supple. The smell which was totally divine came from the mix of oils i.e jojoba, olive, ginger root, shea butter and corn oil. So as you could see, that's the reason why your skin will be more softened and hydrated due to these beautiful properties.

Usage is so simple:-

1) Squirt a small amount on your dry hands, and gentle massage all over your face to remove all the makeup.
2) Next, slightly wet your palms and continue to massage your skin. The oil will become white in colour, almost cream-soap like.
3) Wash off all the dirt and grime. Fell your skin texture. Walla! Soft and smooth skin unveiled.

Effectively removing your makeup

At a retail price of RM150, I believe its a great investment. But even more attractive, the bigger bottle comes at Rm300, for 3 times the quantity. Like Wow!

So if you're interested, drop by Shu's counters at any malls to get a hand on this amazing experience. From the way I see it, Shu has definitely lifted the bar up for other cleansing oils to beat...
